How to add exercises

A Reading exercise helps your students develop their reading fluency and comprehension by understanding main ideas and details, and it also helps them expand their vocabulary through context.

  1. First, click on "Add new exercise" and choose Reading from the list of exercises. An input card will appear on the left, where the settings for the exercise can be configured.

  2. In the "Topic field", enter a descriptive topic for the exercise. This topic will provide a thematic focus for the sentences and vocabulary used.

  3. Next, in the "Topic-related vocabulary" field, enter any specific words or phrases you would like to include in the generated text.

  4. Then, choose a "Grammar form" to include in the exercise from the dropdown list.

  5. Next, choose a level from the "Student level" dropdown list. This helps tailor the text to your students' proficiency.

  6. Once you're done, click the "Add exercise" button to generate the exercise content using the settings you provided. The generated reading passage will appear on the output card on the right.

  7. If you are not happy with the AI-generated content, you can click the Edit icon at the top of the output card.

  8. In edit view, you can make changes to the exercise content, select words to add gaps to include in the gap fills, or remove any that are not suitable.

  9. After making your desired modifications, click "Save" to apply the changes.
